A Word about Sowing, Reaping and Supernatural Provision
Please don't be disappointed that my donate button took you to this page that talks about walking in supernatural provision instead of to a place where you could actually donate. I appreciate your heart. I really do. If you feel led of God to bless us or our work, then I would just ask that you to pray for us. It's not that I don't want you to sow and it's not that we don't have needs just like everyone else. I have to be transparent with you and tell you that God is still working on me in this regard. I know it is Biblical to sow into God's work and we have also been doing that for many years. It is a great blessing to be a part of the ministries that we admire and know that our "seed" is going into good ground. But as of this writing, we are able to work and minister also, and our work provides enough finances to pay for trips and airfare etc.. The Apostle Paul made tents and I just look at this like we're making "tents" also. So for now, that's what we are doing.
But since we are on the subject of sowing, I would like to share just a little wisdom that the Lord has given me about this subject, and how it is possible to live in a place of supernatural provision. I will present here some Keys to Walking in Supernatural Provision, adding more as God lays them on my heart!
My Prayer for You... Father give us grace to grow into maturity in all these things. Train us to be good stewards and help us to hear your voice clearly. Give us seed supernaturally and help us to be blessed beyond what we can contain so that we may bless others, that Jesus will be glorified. In your name! Amen!
1. God Desires Us to be Blessed and to Prosper
Maybe because of all the times that we have struggled so much with our finances and making ends meet, we sometimes lose our awareness of the fact that God wants us to be blessed. Its not something that our Father withholds from us, but freely gives to us. Usually when we struggle the first thing we think is "what am I doing wrong?" What have we forgotten to do that God's blessing is being withheld from us? We have sown... we believe... we have waited... we're still waiting...
The Bible says... For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. (Psalm 84:11)
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32)
We need to cultivate a real awareness that God desires for us to prosper. Not only that, but because He is a good and loving Father He helps us to learn to take hold of and walk in His provision. As with every other area of our lives, we must be knowledgeable and vigilant over our finances. It starts with KNOWING that God's blessing belongs to us as His children and heirs of the Kingdom.
A good place to start is by making a list of scriptures to study and meditate upon that tell of God's goodness and provision. Then we allow the Holy Spirit to breathe life into these scriptures for us as we take hold of them. So now you may be saying "yes Mike, we know all that and there is still a problem." The thing is that these promises from God need to come alive within us. I am not saying that as a metaphor. The Word is alive and needs to be alive in us. I was asking someone once about their financial situation because I knew that they were struggling. When I asked how they were doing, the person responded, "I am blessed! I'm blessed going in and I'm blessed coming out...blessed in the city and blessed in the field...... etc." They answered me according to the promise of Deuteronomy chapter 28. (which is good) So they knew that there was a scripture that gave promise. I asked them how often they declare that and they said "every time someone asks me, I say that in faith." That is still good, but it is not enough.
