Journal Your Experiences
Acknowledge the Spiritual
I would like to start off by saying that I believe everyone has angelic encounters. Not only that but I believe that the angels of the Lord are around you and your life continually. The Bible says...
For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: (Luke 4:10)
The problem that most of us experience is that we are not aware of the spirit or the spiritual realm. We have spent so many years focused on physical things that it has become our whole world. We can interact in the physical realm quite well because we have been trained to do so since birth. For us to have experiential knowledge about the spiritual realms or the realms of Heaven, we must learn to do that as well.
How We Can Easily Turn Our Focus to Spiritual Things Everyone has to start somewhere and journaling is a powerful starting place. Even if you have been seeing things in the spiritual dimension for a while, journaling can bring increase. Journaling everyday is an act of faith that helps us experience more of Heaven. Journaling says I believe God to show me things. Keeping a journal is in itself a statement that the things of Heaven are important to us!
What Should I Write in my Journal? I believe that you should write down every little supernatural or unexplainable thing that happens. Even if there is only a possibility that it is supernatural, write it down anyway. Keep record of strange or unusual lights you may see. Write about smells that are out of the ordinary. Keep track of strange feeling or sensations and thoughts that come to you that seem random. Keep a record of things people say that are odd, inappropriate or out of the ordinary. Journal about the things that you see in your peripheral vision. Things that you may have dismissed before. Many times we see things but immediately dismiss them because they don't fit neatly into our natural and normal thought processes. Write it all down. :)
How Journaling Helps Our Eyes to See
The fact that you are writing things down and thinking about things to write down causes your awareness to be increased. As your awareness increases you will notice things that you have overlooked in the past. The natural inclination to dismiss spiritual phenomenon because we don't have a grid for it, a history to draw upon as it were, lessons, and we begin to be more aware and to see the unseen.
Here is a quick example. For most of my life I like many others have seen flashes of light that seem out of place. Maybe at night for instance when there are no discernable sources of light. Because there is no solid reason to explain it, I would dismiss it as my eyes playing tricks on me. That goes for just about everything that we see that we can't explain. The natural inclination is to dismiss these things without giving them any thought. That whole process changes as you begin to journal.
should I want to see the weird, odd and unusual? Isn't that Demonic?
In a word...no. The thing to remember here is that EVERYTHING we see at first, as we are learning is odd and unusual. If it was usual it would be a non-issue. Everything that we learn about the spiritual realm is unusual until it becomes usual. The first time we pray for someone to be healed and they are healed, it is unusual because it hasn't happened before. After a few times of seeing these kinds of supernatural miracles they become the usual...the "norm" instead of the exception. As you do begin to see, we don't need to be in fear because the Bible tells us we have not been given a spirit of fear. (2 Timothy 1:7) If there is any question about something you do see, you can have great confidence that as you seek the Lord according to His plan and His will, you are safe in the palm of His hand.
There is Much More to Learn. We could not possibly cover every topic, concern and question on a topic such as this in a brief blog post. Exercise wisdom and ask questions. We don't have to rush in blindly (no pun intended) because God has raised up many wise and gifted people in the body of Christ who can provide direction as we pursue spiritual sight.
God Bless You!
